Major responsibilities include: 

• provide strong leadership to the department;

• collaborate with collegiate leadership; faculty development and mentorship;

• maintain close cooperation with other departments;

• maintain an independent or collaborative research/scholarship program;

• actively participate in service activities at the collegiate, regional, and national levels;

• maintain an active involvement in the clinical/didactic teaching efforts of the department in Periodontology at the Pre/Doctoral levels;

• actively participate in the departmental faculty practice plan; and

• cultivate an environment of inclusion and respect for students, faculty, and staff with the department and the college.
